Fire companies were dispatched on 2/24/03 at 6:45 PM to a report of a dwelling on fire. Upon arrival they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the windows of the second floor.

A two-alarm fire burned at 334 Herne Avenue in Avondale.

Fire companies were dispatched on 2/24/03 at 6:45 PM to a report of a dwelling on fire. Upon arrival they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the windows of the second floor, crews made an aggressive attack and brought the fire under control in a few minutes.

The origin and cause is being listed as undetermined until the Fire Investigation Unit completes its investigation. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters; one adult and child are being provided temporary shelter by the Red Cross.

The loss to the building and contents is estimated at $25,000 dollars.
