A small, twin-engine Cessna plane crashed Wednesday morning just south of Fort Worth Spinks Airport, critically injuring two people and causing a fire, officials said.
The two men, who suffered burns to their hands, arms and legs, were taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas by helicopter ambulances, officials said.
The crash was reported shortly before 10 a.m.
"The plane had just departed when it went down," said Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford.
A KXAS Channel 5 helicopter that was flying over the scene showed very little of the plane was left after the crash and fire.
