Md. Ladder Truck Catches Fire Enroute to Fire

The rig from Montgomery County was enroute to a building fire.

A tillered ladder truck from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue caught fire Monday while responding to a structure fire.

The rig, from Station 16 in Silver Spring, encountered mechanical issues and pulled over.

That's when fire erupted in the cab of the rig, NBCWashington.com reported.

Another rig responding to the fire stopped to extinguish the fire. The fire was contained to the cab.

None of the firefighters were injured.

The building fire that the aerial was responding to was quickly contained by other units.
