A New York ambulance driver has been cited following a near head-on crash that left a woman seriously injured.
Jami L. Haag, 29, was charged with unsafe speed, according to The Star Gazette.
The collision occurred when the ambulance crossed into the southbound lane of N.Y. 54, and struck a vehicle driven by Teresa L. Snyder, 48.
Snyder had to be extricated, and was transported to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, where she is in critical condition with a head injury.
A paramedic on board the ambulance, David Forester, 55, of Dansville, was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he is in guarded condition, the paper reported.
The ambulance was not on an emergency call when the crash happened.
