Oct. 3, 2015
The Dawson County pumper was responding to a call when a car went around traffic that was stopped.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries after a car crashed into a Dawson County pumper.

The firefighters were responding to an unconscious person Friday morning when a female driver drove around stopped traffic. She hit the fire truck and the force pushed it off the road.

"They were probably 100-150 feet off the road," Dawson County Fire Deputy Chief Tim Satterfield told WSBTV.com.

The driver and the two firefighters were transported to North East Georgia Medical Center with minor injuries.

Heavy equipment was needed to remove the truck from the ravine, and Satterfield said the truck suffered extensive damage.
