Nassau County, NY, Worker Rescued after Cherry Picker Gets Entangled in Wires

One firefighter explained how the rescue was going to happen while another climbed an aerial ladder to reach him.

Firefighters rescued a worker in Nassau County after his cherry picker got entangled in wires  70 to 80 feet in the air.

Crews instructed the worker to stay put and not touch any wires.

The rescue, captured live by abc7, showed a firefighter climbing a ladder to reach the victim while a second explained how the operation was going to occur.

A tether was placed around the victim before he climbed down the ladder. 

Once he was safely on the ground, firefighters had to figure out how to get the cherry picker out of the wires.
