A California firefighter was found dead at his home on Jan. 11 hours after he helped at a structure fire.
Quincy Capt. William F. Hopman, 53, had not only assisted at the fire but helped clean up equipment afterward at the fire station, according to the USFA.
The following morning he was found dead in his bed at home.
The family suggests that any remembrances in his memory be made to either the Quincy Volunteer Fire Department or the Plumas Christian School Scholarship Fund c/o Fehrman Mortuary and Crematory, P.O. Box 53, Quincy, CA 95971.
