HOUSTON --
Two Houston firefighters died battling a house fire in southeast Houston early Sunday.
The firefighters were called to a fire at a home on Oak Vista and De Leon streets a little after midnight.
Firefighters were inside the home searching for victims when they were called out because the fire became too intense. But the two did not make it out.
Post Condolences HereMore help was called in and the two firefighters were removed from inside when the blaze was under control.
The family that had been inside made it out safely.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The names of the firefighters have not yet been released. Fire department officials say it will take some time to notify all their family members.
