A Florida firefighter died of COVID-19 last week after battling the virus for about a month, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.
Ocean City-Wright Fire Control District Capt. Lloyd Losinger contracted COVID while performing inspections, the USFA said in an alert. He died of complications from the virus on Jan. 6.

"Captain Losinger was a loyal friend and coworker, but more importantly he was a terrific husband, father and grandfather," the fire district stated in an online update.
