A fire chief in western Idaho near Boise has died after being exposed to a patient infected with COVID-19 in August.
The U.S. Fire Administration on Thursday announced the line-of-duty death of Garden Valley Fire Protection District Chief Jon Delvalle, who was infected with the deadly virus on Aug. 15 and died of complications on Tuesday.
Chief Delvalle, 63, was a 21-year veteran of the fire service, according to USFA.
