A veteran firefighter from a community near the southern South Carolina coast has died of complications related to COVID-19.
The Hardeeville Fire Department announced in a Facebook post that Lt. Andy Orphanoudakis passed away on Saturday night.
No other details were available.
"We ask that you keep his family and fire department family in your prayers," the post says. "Go rest high on that mountain sir, we will take it from here."
