South Haven firefighters are mourning the loss of a firefighter who died earlier this month due to complications from a medical condition that occurred in the line of duty.
South Haven firefighter Allen Fischer, 61, died Jan. 10 from complications of a medical condition he obtained from his firefighting career, according to a post by KSTP 5 News.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz ordered all United States and Minnesota state flags fly at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Jan. 31 in honor and remembrance of Firefighter Allen Fischer.
He dedicated 42 years of service as a firefighter with the South Haven Fire and Rescue Department.
Fischer is survived by his wife and seven children.
