Nashville Firefighter Dies from COVID-19

Nashville Capt. William Michael “Mike” Brooks succumbed to COVID-19 after contracting it on-duty.

Nashville Fire Capt. William Michael “Mike” Brooks succumbed to COVID-19 after contracting it on-duty. 

Brooks contracted COVID-19 while responding to numerous medical emergency calls.

He passed away from the virus on Feb. 1, according to the fire department.

"We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Captain Mike Brooks (Rescue 13 C-Shift). Captain Brooks served the Nashville Fire Department for 35 Years. Please keep his family, friends and Fire Department Family in your prayers," the department said in a Facebook post.
