Officials Identify FF Killed at OK Wildfire

An Edgewater Park firefighter killed in the line of duty at the Lake Ellsworth fire has been identified as April Partridge.

Edgewater Park, OK, Volunteer Fire Department firefighter April Partridge has been identified as the firefighter killed Sunday while battling a wildfire near Lake Ellsworth.

On Sunday, March 20, 2022, at approximately 12:24 p.m., the Edgewater Park Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a fire in the area of NE Kings Rd, just west of Lake Ellsworth.

During the fire extinguishment operations, Partridge, age 55, got separated from her vehicle resulting in her becoming a fatality during the fire, according to a press release from Comanche County/Lawton Emergency Management.

The official cause of her death is under investigation by the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office.
