AL Chief Succumbs to a Medical Emergency

McAdory Fire District Fire Chief Jeff Wyatt died of a medical emergency after working a shift.

McAdory Fire District Fire Chief Jeff Wyatt, 49, died of a massive heart attack on April 4, 2022, at home after working a shift at the fire station.

While working at the firehouse, Wyatt complained of difficulty breathing to his colleagues. When he arrived home after his shift he went upstairs and set his briefcase down then fell back down the stairs suffering a heart attack, The U.S. Fire Administration said in a press release.

Chief Wyatt served the McAdory Fire District for 20 years and led a department that answered more than 12-hundred calls for help in 2021, WBRC News 6 reported.
