Months after re-joining thee Sparta Township Fire Department, Terry Cassidy fell ill and died while serving this community.
Cassidy, 64, responded to a heart attack call May 23 when he reported feeling ill when he was taken to the hospital.
Two days later, Cassidy passed away at the hospital, according to WANE.com.
Called "Goat" at the fire station, Cassidy served the departments during the 1970s and 1980s. Just eight months ago, he re-joined the fire department.
A celebration of life will be held June 4 at the Sparta Township fire station.
Cassidy leaves is survived by four children and 17 grandchildren, according to his obituary.
