Veteran SC Firefighter Who Died After Fitness Training Identified

Summerville Fire Rescue Capt. Kenneth Roy Sott, 65, was stricken after returning home.

The Summerville firefighter who died Monday after working out with a recruit class has been identified as Capt. Kenneth Roy Sott, 65.

He was a 30-year veteran with the department, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

He was stricken at home and died after being transported to Summerville Medical Center.

Summerville fire officials said on its Facebook page: "Please keep all those affected by this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers."
