Richlands, VA, Fire Rescue Firefighter/Medic Killed in Crash

Firefighter/EMT-I Jacob "Jake" Kincaid, 37, was leaving a mandatory clinical class on Feb. 3 when he was killed.

A Virginia firefighter/EMT-I was killed earlier this month in a single-vehicle crash.

Richlands Fire-Rescue Firefighter/EMT-I Jacob "Jake"  Kincaid, 37, was returning from a mandatory clinical class on Feb. 3 when the wreck occurred. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the USFA reported Tuesday.

He had been with the department for five years. 

Kincaid was the eighth firefighter in 2025 to die while serving their communities.
