Houston Firefighter Marcelo Garcia Receives Final Salute

Houston Firefighter Marcelo 'Ox" Garcia III was killed in a collapse at a warehouse fire last week.

Houston Firefighter Marcelo 'Ox' Garcia III is being remembered today by hundreds of colleagues from around the state and country.

Garcia was killed in a collapse at a warehouse fire last Wednesay.

His station assignment was unique -- in the neighborhood where he grew up. He often responded to calls from neighbors and others he or his family knew.

Garcia was remembered for his calm demeanor and passion for 3 p.m. workouts. 

Just days after the fire, Yesenia Mendez was charged with first-degree arson in connection with the three-alarm fire.
