This course involves itself with some of the most experienced instructors in the fire service who will help you acquire the courage and skills needed to save lives. This challenging and unique course is designed around aggressive fireground searches and the indicators for successful search size-ups. It provides students with information gathering techniques in determining the probable location of victims as well as once found their rescues. The course applies aggressive primary searches with speed and accuracy increasing firefighter safety as well as increasing the chances of survival for victims whether they are civilian or distressed firefighters. The course will develop the techniques in moving and retrieving victims as an individual as well as through team applications. The instruction goes on to develop proper coordination of search procedures in all types of structures and increase the level of effective search skills. The use of Thermal Imaging is also thoroughly incorporated into searching for both civilians and downed firefighters under real fire conditions. The program emphasizes the high stakes involved and the endangerments to searching firefighters. When a life to be saved is presented to responding firefighters the need to act immediately will test the abilities and the courage of the new recruit as well as the seasoned veteran. It is sound and aggressive search skills that will save lives so that others may live.
