This 3-hour classroom-formatted program is designed specifically for Lifeguard Supervisors and Instructors; Aquatic Facility Managers and Operators; Aquatic and Recreation Professionals; and for Fire, Rescue, EMS, and Law Enforcement personnel with an interest in or professional responsibility for drowning and aquatic injury prevention, education, and/or investigation.
Foundations was developed by and is presented by Gerald Dworkin, a professional Aquatics Safety and Water Rescue Consultant for Lifesaving Resources Inc. (lifesaving.com). Dworkin is a noted author and educator in his field; a Board member of the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (ndpa.org); a Firefighter/EMT; and a Forensics Expert in drowning and aquatic injury litigation. Dworkin has appeared on CNN; MSNBC News; ABC's Good Morning America; NBC's Today Show; CBS' Early Show; The Discovery Channel; The Weather Channel; Fire Emergency Training Network; and the G. Gordon Liddy Show. He has written and published more than 40 articles and several instructional course guidebooks. Dworkin has been a Firefighter and EMT for over 30 years, and is currently with the Harrisville Fire Rescue Department in New Hampshire. As a Consultant with Lifesaving Resources Inc., he is responsible for the development of Aquatics Safety, Lifeguarding, Water Rescue, Swiftwater Rescue, and Ice Rescue training programs, and for the conduct of these programs throughout North America for the Public Safety and Rescue, as well as the Lifeguard and Aquatic Recreation Sectors.
