A Boston firefighter and five other people were hurt in a fire that broke out at a home in the city early Tuesday morning.
The fire started around 4 a.m. at a two and a half story house on Academy Hill Road in Brighton, which had residents inside, according to the department.
Smoke was visibly coming from the basement of the large home when first responders arrived.
The blaze had spread throughout the building in its walls by 4:50 a.m., the department said, and raised it to a three-alarm fire. Firefighters cut holes into the walls to vent and access the flames.
The heavy fire was knocked down by 5:15 a.m., according to the department.
One firefighter who was at the scene was brought to the hospital, along with five other residents of the home. Seven people in total were displaced from the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Boston Fire Department.
