Fire broke out early Tuesday morning at Plum Hollow Market in Southfield, requiring mutual aid from multiple fire departments, officials said.

No injuries were reported, according to the Southfield Fire Department. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

As of mid-morning Tuesday, firefighters were still extinguishing hot spots at the scene, officials said.

Firefighters were dispatched to the store, located at 21999 W. Nine Mile Rd., shortly after 1 a.m. They encountered heavy smoke and fire emerging from the building, officials said, and attempted to get inside but had to back out due to the heavy fire conditions.

Categorized as a 3-alarm fire, mutual aid was brought in from Bloomfield Township, Royal Oak, Birmingham, Ferndale, Madison Heights and West Bloomfield fire departments. Star EMS and the Salvation Army Canteen were also requested, officials said.

The fire was contained to the store, and two attached businesses sustained smoke and water damage only, officials said. The structure directly behind the building fire was unaffected, officials said.
