TX Firefighters Save Two Trapped in Apartment Fire

Two people were rescued Sunday night from a “very dramatic, fast-moving” fire that caused significant damage to an apartment complex on San Antonio’s North Central Side.
More than 100 firefighters and 27 units responded to the fire call, officials said. No injuries had been reported as of near midnight.
Arriving at the scene with the Willow Run Apartments still in flames, San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood said no one was believed to be missing.
Two people were rescued from the second floor of the building at 7543 South Sea Lane, where they were trapped by fire and smoke, he said.
About 10 units of the complex are “heavily damaged,” Hood added, with smoke and water damage in other units.
An initial sweep of the building has been completed, but a secondary sweep for victims was still underway, he said after 10 p.m. Sunday.
Hood said the blaze spread quickly through the length of the entire two-story building.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, he said.
Officials were working to find shelter for displaced residents who might not have anywhere else to go.
