Woman Dies after TX Firefighters Pull Her from Burning House

Once Fort Worth Fire Department crews arrived at the scene of a house fire early Wednesday, they were able to quickly pull out a woman who was trapped inside.

Editor's note: The 80-year-old woman who was pulled from the burning house died shortly after she was taken to the hospital, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

FORT WORTH, TX—A woman was critically injured Wednesday morning in a house fire in east Fort Worth, authorities said.

No other injuries were reported in the fire, which occurred in the 900 block of Winnie Street.

The woman was taken to a local hospital.

Fort Worth firefighters responded to the fire call shortly after 7 a.m. and they arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the home.

Within minutes, firefighters rescued the woman out of the home.

Fire officials did not release any information on what caused the blaze.
