Three LA Firefighters Injured in Gas Fire, Explosion

New Iberia firefighters responded to a natural gas fire and subsequent explosion that happened at a manufactured home structure being used as a business.

Three Louisiana firefighters were injured battling a natural gas fire and explosion Thursday.

A natural gas fire broke out at a manufactured home structure that was being used as a business in New Iberia, KATC-TV reports. While crews were responding, an explosion occurred. 

Three New Iberia firefighters were injured during the call and taken to the hospital. No details were given concerning the extent of their injuries or if they resulted from the fire or the blast.

Crews were still working at the scene, and State Fire Marshal deputies are investigating the cause of the fire. Deputies also are helping the injured firefighters and their families.
