Firefighters in North Myrtle Beach were able to get quick control of an attic fire Saturday morning that left one firefighter with a shoulder injury.
North Myrtle Beach firefighters arrived to find fire coming from the attic space on the gable end of an attached garage in the 1200 block of Tidewater Drive.
According to a Facebook post by North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue, firefighters cut a ventilation hole and deployed two handlines. One of the handlines was used to control fire in the garage attic, the other to address fire extension into the second floor living area.
The fire was quickly controlled by firefighters who were successful in keeping damage to a minimum in the residential parts of the home.
WPDE ABC15 reported one firefighter suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to a local hospital.
