GA House Fire Claims Five Lives, Multiple Injured

Officials say five people were killed in an early morning house fire in Decatur Tuesday.

DeKalb County firefighters responded to the 1900 block of Janet Lane just after midnight and encountered heavy fire and smoke conditions with reports of entrapment by a neighbor, according to Fox5 Atlanta.

Firefighters immediately commenced rescue operations and started efforts to control the fire as they worked to locate the victims.

Officials told 11 Alive, four died inside the home, a fifth died once pulled from the structure and three others were transported to area hospitals. Two were treated on scene.
