Aug. 12, 2022
All members of the Hollins Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad are sidelined amid a comprehensive probe.

All members of the Hollins Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad have been placed on suspension amid a probe by multiple agencies.

There will be no disruption of service in the Hollins area, WXFR reported quoting Amy Whittaker, Roanoke County PIO.

Several agencies started the investigation after learning of concerns, the station reported, adding that in addition to the county's internal auditor, the Roanoke County Police also are involved.

Officials said the volunteer squad is separate from Roanoke County Fire and Rescue, which has career staff.
