Dec. 30, 2024
Fort Worth firefighters battled an early fire in a vacant warehouse.

An overnight fire swept through a vacant building just north of downtown, near Fort Worth's historic Stockyards.

Multiple 9-1-1 calls started coming into the Fort Worth Fire Alarm Office about 2:20 a.m. for the 700 block of North Main Street, according to the Fort Worth Fire Department.

Reports of two people who were believed to be inside the building also came in and firefighters from Fire Station 1 reported fire from the large, two-story warehouse.

A second alarm was called right as the first chief officers arrived.

Due to heavy fire conditions, firefighters moved to a defensive attack used master streams from two aerial platforms and a quint.

The fire was battled for nearly 75 minutes before it was declared under control.

Fire officials told Firehouse.com that one person suffered smoke inhalation.

According to WFAA.com, the fire caused damage to local chef Tim Love's catering company.

No firefighters were injured.
