Two Perish in Fire in Foreclosed Lower Paxton, PA, House

April 1, 2025
Neighbors called 9-1-1 after seeing flames coming from the Dauphin County house.

The cause and manner of deaths for two people found inside a burning Lower Paxton home Sunday remained a mystery on Monday, but the property had been foreclosed upon last year, according to county property records.

Autopsies are scheduled Tuesday morning for Alysse Saucedo, 33, and an unidentified man found inside the home by firefighters mid-morning Sunday after a neighbor who saw flames called 911. The dead man’s name has not yet been released.

Alysse Saucedo moved into the home in the 6000 block of Fairfax Drive in 2016 with her husband Raul Saucedo, according to property records. The couple, however, had separated in recent months, according to a relative.

When Alysse’s father died last month, the obituary listed her under her maiden name of Alysse Childs.

She told sheriff’s deputies who visited the home in January that Raul no longer lived there. The deputies had come to serve an “order to vacate” after the bank foreclosed.

A lawsuit the Members 1st Federal Credit Union filed on May 31, 2023, said the Saucedos owed the bank more than $37,000 from a $30,000 home equity line of credit they were granted in 2018.

The bank asked for the full loan back in the lawsuit, as well as more than $2,000 in interest and nearly $5,000 in collection and attorney’s fees.

MS AM Properties Inc. bought the Saucedos’ Fairfax Drive home for $43,000 during a sheriff’s sale on Sept. 11, 2024, according to property records. County records valued the home at about $114,700.

The Saucedos continued living at the home after losing ownership, MS Am Properties alleged in a lawsuit filed on Dec. 4, 2024.

The lawsuit said the Saucedos had been living at the Fairfax Drive home for free since the September sheriff’s sale, without any lease agreement with MS Am Properties Inc.

The lawsuit said the company unsuccessfully tried to contact the Saucedos and assist them with moving out. MS Am Properties Inc. asked for the court’s help taking possession of the home and asked for the Saucedos to pay $1,200 in filing costs and attorney’s fees.

An order was sent to the Dauphin County Sheriff’s Office as recently as March 7, ordering deputies to remove the Saucedos from the property so MS Am Properties could take possession. It’s unclear if county deputies made any attempts to do so in recent weeks.

A man who lives two doors down from the Saucedo home said their next-door neighbor ran outside screaming when she saw flames coming from the back of the house, then called 911 at 10:19 a.m.

Firefighters arrived four minutes later and said flames were coming through the front door. Alysse’s body was found in a second-floor hallway. The man’s body was found in a second-floor bathroom.

Four dogs were found dead on the first floor with three more found unharmed outside. Police did not release the breeds or ages of the dogs. But Alysse posted on her Facebook page in October that she had four six-week-old female Cane Corso puppies for sale. In another post, she shared a photo of two adult Cane Corsos.

On Monday, someone left a small bouquet of flowers at the mailbox. The home’s windows and doors were boarded up. A trampoline remained in the front yard with a kids playhouse in the back.

Alysse had at least one child, who was not home at the time of the fire. A neighbor believed the girl was at her father’s home at the time.
