Connecticut Firefighters Battle House Blaze

On Sunday July 27, 2003 at 0512, Waterford Co. # 4 and the Oswegotchie Fire Department were dispatched to report of a house fire at 129 Oil Mill Road.

On Sunday July 27, 2003 at 0512, Waterford Co. # 4 and the Oswegotchie Fire Department were dispatched to report of a house fire at 129 Oil Mill Road. On arrival, the first engine on scene confirmed the working fire and started the second alarm. The house was well involved on arrival and suppression was hindered by lack of hydrants in the area.

Waterford Companies #5 Cohazie FD, #1 Jordan FD, #2 Quaker Hill, New London FD FAST Team, and Mohegan Tribal Medics assisted the department with the operation.

The house was occupied at the time of the fire and all occupants evacuated the building without injury.
