A crash between two trucks tied up traffic for hours at a busy intersection in Inver Grove Heights, Minn., on Aug. 18.
At about 7 p.m., Inver Grove Heights firefighters, police officers and Health East paramedics were dispatched to a crash at the intersection of Highways 3 and 110. On arrival, units found a six-wheel delivery truck rolled on the passenger side, which had been struck by a 22-wheel tractor trailer.
The driver of the delivery truck suffered minor injuries and the other driver was uninjured.
“The delivery truck driver had just filled up his fuel tank and most of that tank leaked on to the road before crews were able to crimp off the fuel line,” according to Inver Grove Heights Chief Judy Thill. “Fortunately, the leak was downhill from the drain.”
The firefighters diked the fuel runoff and stood by with hoselines and helped off-load the produce from the delivery truck before it was up-righted.
Crews were on scene for about six hours.
