An oil tank containing crude oil was struck by lightning just west of Kola Manitoba on June 8.
The strike blew off the lid of the tank and started it on fire. Tundra employees were on scene shortly after and closed in all the oil wells feeding the tank.
The fire was monitored by emergency crews and staff for about an hour. After it was deemed safe to approach the tank, firefighters went in an extinguished it using a combination of foam and water.
The fire was quickly extinguished.
