Crash Handled by Florida Crews

St. Augustine, Fl. – A head-on collision just yards from SJCFR Station 4 left State Road 208 closed for an hour and left damaged vehicles, parts and sod scattered across the road.

St. Augustine, Fl. – A head-on collision just yards from SJCFR Station 4 left State Road 208 closed for an hour and left damaged vehicles, parts and sod scattered across the road.

The accident occurred prior to 9 a.m. when  a Ford fullsize pickup, hauling a trailer filled with sod, collided with a Ford Explorer Sport Trac, spinning it 180 degrees and leaving the smaller truck heavily damaged on the side of the road. The fullsize truck and trailer lay in the ditch on the opposite side of the roadway.

Engine 4 arrived on scene first and assumed command, declaring a Level 1 MCI with six patients: four adults and two pediatric. Rescues 12, 14 and 16 responded along with Tanker 4 and Engine 16. All six patients were transported by ground, with two going to Flagler and the other four to hospitals in Jacksonville.

The extent of their injuries was not available at the time of this article and Florida Highway Patrol was investigating the accident.
