Over three days, Delray Beach Fire-Rescue (DBFR) conducted fireground management training for each of its six stations.
Each station was brought to the training center individually and practiced the tasks of a first-arriving station at a structure fire. The prop was set up to simulate a four room apartment.?
This included stretching a hoseline in limited space, forcing entry through our forcible entry prop and then conducting hose management techniques as the line was stretched into the structure, The crews then had to locate the seat of the fire and apply water as well as locate a victim within the fire building.
Throughout the exercise, crews were required to communicate as they would on a fireground, both interpersonally and with dispatch and responding companies.
