Firefighters battled fire and frigid temperatures as flames swept through an assembly hall at a Skokie living facility on Dec. 10.
Flames were seen coming from the roof when crews arrived at Orchard Village around 7 p.m. The multi-building complex is a facility for disabled adults.
Hoselines and an aerial device were used to keep the flames from spreading to an attached building.
The fire was darkened down in less than 30 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
