Aug. 03--A Frederick man who was injured Friday during a zip-line collision in Adamstown is in a coma.
As of Saturday afternoon, Zachary Jensen, 26, had not regained consciousness since Friday morning when his head struck another man's shoulder on the zip line operated by Upward Enterprises Inc., said Kurt Jensen, his father.
Zachary Jensen suffered a widespread brain injury, his father said.
The other man was not hurt.
The collision happened after a second person was sent down the zip line before Jensen was detached from his line, causing Jensen to roll back toward the middle and collide with the second person, Maj. Tim Clarke, of the Frederick County Sheriff's Office, said Friday. Kurt Jensen said the second person had no way to avoid hitting his son.
Upward Enterprises operates the zip line on land owned by the Claggett Center, near Buckeystown Pike and Fingerboard Road in Adams-town. The zip line is in a wooded area about 2 miles southeast of the center.
Kurt Jensen said it took about two and a half minutes to get his son down off the wire and about 15 minutes to get him treatment.
He said he has concerns and questions about his son's treatment, but it seemed good resources were on hand and steps were taken as quickly as possible.
Doctors said Zachary Jensen is in a deep coma, Kurt Jensen said.
Many family, friends and clergy have been visiting his son, he said.

"We have received a great amount of support and prayer," he said.
