Massachusetts firefighters rescued a man who was trapped beneath a tree that was knocked down by Tropical Storm Isaias on Tuesday.
Rehoboth was one of towns hardest hit by the storm, and fire department crews responded to multiple calls, WBZ-TV reports. One involved a man who was struck by a falling tree in his yard and became trapped underneath, the department said in an online post.
Firefighters were able to pull the man out from under the tree, and he was taken to the hospital. Crews then remained on the scene to clear the tree from the driveway, so the man's wife could go to the hospital, according to the department.
After making landfall in North Carolina, Tropical Storm Isaias slammed the Eastern Seaboard, with the strong winds and heavy rain leading to flooding, tornadoes and power outages. In the Northeast, wind gusts reached more than 60 mph.
