Tesla Goes Off San Luis Obispo, CA, Cliff Injuring Two

Cal Fire officials said two people were injured, one seriously, after the Tesla went off a cliff.

Jul. 4—A crash that sent a blue Tesla plunging 200 feet down a steep hill in northern San Luis Obispo County resulted in significant injuries to both of the vehicle's occupants.

According to the California Highway Patrol's Traffic Incident Information page, at around 3:10 p.m., CHP and Cal Fire received reports of the vehicle crash off of the eastbound lane of state Highway 46.

According to the CHP page, the vehicle was far enough down the steep cliff face that it wasn't easily visible from the roadway.

According to a post on X by Cal Fire, firefighters recovered two patients from the scene of the crash.

One patient suffered moderate injuries and transported by ambulance to a hospital, while the other was airlifted to the hospital.
