A Florida fire department has seen a dramatic increase in firefighters with COVID-19.
Eighty-six Orlando firefighters have tested positive for the virus, up from 28 last week, WESH-TV reports. The spike in positive tests has led to the quarantine of 122 firefighters.
State and city and health officials are trying to conduct contact tracing in an effort to determine who might have been exposed to the virus. Newly hired firefighters and firefighters in the training division have made large percentage of the department's new cases, according to WESH.
Firefighters continue to follow precautions and preventative measures, such as social distancing and wearing PPE, in an effort to limit exposure and keep the virus from spreading.
