One of Troy's six fire stations is temporarily closed because several firefighters tested positive for the coronavirus.
All members of the affected station, about 30 firefighters, are under quarantine out of caution, according to a news release from the city. The release did not identify which station was closed.
While it's unknown how each firefighter contracted the virus, the members have been in contact with each other on fire runs and other fire department business, the release states.
The affected station will be closed for 14 days. "A few" of the volunteer members at one of the stations recently tested positive for the virus, Fire Chief Dave Roberts said in the release.

“Fortunately, as of now, and to our knowledge, none of the other members from our other five stations have been affected," Roberts said. "Plans are in place to provide coverage from our other stations during this time."
The news comes as the state health department Monday reported 9,010 new confirmed cases and 62 deaths from Sunday and Monday, bringing the statewide number of confirmed cases to more than 216,800 and deaths to 7,640.
The closure is not expected to impact service, as the remaining five stations will handle calls for service with no expected delays in response time, according to the release.
The fire department is primarily volunteer with more than 150 firefighters available to respond to calls.
