Phenix Technology Gets Presidential 'E' Award for Exports, Plans Open House
RIVERSIDE, CA. — Phenix Technology, Inc., a 46-year old Inland Empire firefighting equipment manufacture, whose products are sold around the world, received the President’s “E” Award for Exports and will celebrate on August 1 with an open house.
Riverside Councilman Steve Adams and Rep. Ken Calvert will be among the many elected officials and community members to join Phenix Technology for the celebration. The open house comes on the heels of a prestigious ceremony in Washington, D.C., on May 21, when U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross formally presented the award to the company.
The award is the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports. Thirty-two U.S. companies and organizations received the award this year.

U.S. companies are nominated for the “E” Award through the Department of Commerce’s U.S. Commercial Service, located within the Department’s International Trade Administration. The U.S. Commercial Service helps U.S. companies expand into international markets by lending their expertise at every stage of the exporting process.
U.S. exports totaled $2.21 trillion in 2016, accounting for nearly 12 percent of U.S. gross domestic product. Exports supported an estimated 11.5 million jobs nationwide in 2015, according to the most recent statistics from the International Trade Administration.

In 1961, President Kennedy signed an executive order reviving the World War II “E” symbol of excellence to honor and provide recognition to America's exporters.
