Two firefighters are recovering from injuries sustained in a fire truck crash earlier this week.
Lucia Riverbend Chief David Toomey said the crew was sitting at an intersection waiting on traffic to clear when the truck was struck by two vehicles that had collided, Queen City News reported.
“All the sudden, a car comes from the far left, and a truck hit it, and then both of them plowed into us, sitting there at the traffic light,” Toomey said, adding that they were headed to a medical call at the time.
A civilian and two firefighters were transported for treatment. The firefighters have since been released. There was no word on the other person.
