A Tesla plowed into a Fremont fire truck that was blocking traffic on I-680.
The driver of the Tesla Model Y was transported to the hospital. No firefighters were injured, KPIX reported.
The fire engine had to be towed from the highway that was closed for two hours after the 1 p.m. wreck.
Officials didn't know if the Tesla was in self-driving mode at the time of the collision.
