A Gila Bend paramedic is recovering in a trauma center after being crushed by the cab of the rig he was working on.
Fellow firefighters responded quickly and freed Cody Jordan, ABC 15 reported.
He underwent surgery to stabilize his chest which was fractured in multiple places, Fire Chief Arelia Henry said at a press conference Sunday.
Jordan has a "long recovery, but we're expecting a good turnout," she said, adding that additional surgeries are likely.
She says her department is grateful for all of the thoughts and prayers.
