GA Fire Station Closed Due to Black Mold

Nov. 16, 2021
Milton firefighters and their equipment have been reassigned to another location while the city conducts black mold abatement at Fire Station 41.

In a Facebook post, the City of Milton announced that it has temporarily shut down Fire Station 41 after air quality assessments found high levels of black mold spores in the stations common areas and bunk room.

The fire department discovered the issue when firefighters reported moderate reactions. Since discovering the spore problem, the city has relocated crews and equipment to a location where they are still able to provide fire and medical services to Milton residents.

Officials stated additional testing will take place to pinpoint the mold location before developing a plan to remove it.
