Milwaukee Fire Station Closes Due to Structural Issues

Jan. 4, 2022
The Milwaukee Fire Department has closed a station after finding major structural issues with the building, moving firefighters to another firehouse.

The Milwaukee Fire Department has closed Fire Station 30 and relocated its crews after noticing structural issues with the apparatus floor.

Fire Station 30, built in 1911, was designed with a basement below the apparatus floor and with the evolution of fire apparatus size and weight, the floor started experiencing some structural failures

To address these issue, the fire department turned to the city engineer and Department of Public Works who determined the station must be vacated,  according to a report by Fox6 Milwaukee.

While the structure is further assessed, assigned fire crews have been relocated to another station.
