Spotted Dog Technologies, a leading provider of emergency response technology, announced 14 departments have selected Spotted Dog’s Rover Mobile Incident Response Platform. New users of the Rover solution include seven departments in Connecticut, three departments in Pennsylvania, two departments in Virginia, one department in New Hampshire and one in New Jersey.
Geoffrey Giordano, Spotted Dog’s chief executive officer, stated “The Rover mobile platform is being used by fire, rescue and EMS agencies to augment their existing notification systems because it provides many advantages over stand-alone radio/pagers.” Giordano highlighted the technology’s ability to close the communications loop allowing the responder to use their mobile device to notify the department that they are available to respond to a call. Rover automatically sends the responder’s status and credentials and, as responders travel to the fire house, incident command receives a real-time countdown of their arrival time and can track them via GPS on a monitor at the station. Rover also provides all users with navigation integration, views of hydrants and hazards, and preplans, if available.
The new Connecticut customers include Barkhamsted East Fire, Beacon Hose Company #1, Darien Fire, Easton Fire and Easton Volunteer EMS, Goshen Fire and Noroton Heights Fire Department. Pennsylvania fire departments include Gallitzin Fire, Iselin/West Lebanon Volunteer Fire, and Six Mile Run Area Volunteer Fire Company. Gladys Volunteer Fire and Richmond Volunteer Fire in Virginia, Spofford Fire Department in New Hampshire and Livingston Fire District in New Jersey have also joined the Spotted Dog pack.
“We are delighted to be helping so many departments to reduce response time and improve outcomes with our technology,” said Giordano, “The advancements in cellular, messaging and GPS technology have made it increasingly attractive for fire, rescue and EMS agencies to use Rover.”
