THE JACK DANIEL’S FIRE BRIGADE in Lynchburg, TN, has taken delivery of a Pierce Velocity pumper. The industrial-strength apparatus, the size of a typical aerial vehicle, is custom-built to meet the unique emergency response challenges of the Jack Daniel’s Distillery. The vehicle’s graphics feature Jack Daniel’s signature color scheme of black with white and gold accents. The unit features six 2½-inch rear discharges that interface with an elaborate standpipe system installed throughout the distillery, bottling facilities and warehousing area. Other components include a 600-hp engine, 3,000-gpm pump, Husky 300 foam system, 2,000-gallon foam tank, 500-gallon water tank, 2,000-pound dry chemical system and an eight-inch Hydro-Chem deluge gun and nozzle.

THE MAPAVILLE, MO, FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT has taken delivery of a Rosenbauer Commander pumper-tanker outfitted with a 400-hp Cummins ISL engine, Allison EVS3000 transmission, 1,500-gpm Hale QFlo pump, 1,000-gallon Pro Poly tank, 1,250-gpm Task Force Tips Monsoon remote-control deck gun, 15-kilowatt Smart Power generator, 3,000-watt Command Light Knight 2 light tower, ROM roll-up doors, Whelen LED emergency warning lights and Performance Advantage toolboard mounts.

THE STERLING VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT in Loudoun County, VA, has taken delivery of two Smeal custom pumpers built on Spartan Gladiator ELFD chassis. Each unit is outfitted with a 1,500-gpm Waterous CSUC20 pump, FoamPro 2002 foam system, Elkhart Vulcan RF electric monitor, 750-gallon UPF poly water tank, 20-gallon foam cell, Smeal QL-12 electrical system and extensive in-cab compartmentation.
